Thread: Netgear WNDA3100 v2 USB wireless adapter

hi ubuntu users. i'm newbie here apologize if in wrong thread.

installed ubuntu other day , i'm trying connect wireless network netgear wnda3100 v2 wireless adapter. installed ndis gui , found various drivers online. drivers installed correctly , recognized device when plugged in. (one of them caused system crash). anyway, when driver loaded , device installed, problem cannot see options connect wireless network. command iwconfig yields "no wireless extensions" , command sudo lshw -c network not produce information wireless interface (only shows info ethernet adapter). can me device installed? there other commands can run @ terminal me debug whether it's driver or other issue? can find valid driver? i've tried them various websites. cd came included device did not have raw inf driver included. tried drivers got installed in windows partition did not register valid drivers in ubuntu.

running ubuntu 11.10 (running wubi) 64 bit. again, netgear wnda3100 v2 usb wireless adapter.

thanks!

usually best thing first make sure have wired connection, run 'additional drivers' , should find/install correct driver automatically, activate on same screen. after that, unplug ethernet cable , right-click network manager icon on taskbar , see if router listed.

if don't see network manager icon may need install network-manager-gnome
