Thread: Changing Samba and User passwords

i have 11.10 server built in vm purpose of having deploy-able lamp server. passwords generic, , intended changed upon deployment. /var/www folder being shared 'webdev' user (so named in both system users , samba users), when go change passwords, lose sharing access. i've changed both user password (first) , samba user password (second) same thing, , seem no access.

there missing? guessing maybe samba not know new user password, , therefore cannot gain access folder.

smb.conf file looks this:
workgroup = default
security = user
username map = /etc/samba/smbusers

...
[www]
comment = apache shared samba folder
path = var/www
browsable = yes
writeable = yes
write list = webdev
read = no
valid users = webdev
create mask = 0777

, have smbusers identifying 'webdev' 'webdev'

fantastic. also, sure of may need clarifying.

thanks!

edit: offending log entry:
[2011/11/29 00:30:43.438429, 1] smbd/service.c:678(make_connection_snum)
create_connection_server_info failed: nt_status_access_denied

ok, apparently, have appropriate access computer haven't tried yet. looks issue either cached credentials on windows machines or perhaps blocked server many failed attempts? (does samba that?) if so, how clear that? i've cleared creds. on windows machines, still no access.
