Add text layer to all files in folder: what about files that already are searchable?
hi everyone
i'd make scanned pdf documents searchable using ocr feature of adobe acrobat x standard. scanned pdf files stored in 1 folder (or subfolders respectively). in principle go ocr feature, tell add folder ocr conversion list , replace pdf files in searchable versions.
some of files in folder, however, searchable because created word files instance. question is: acrobat's ocr feature these files searchable? leave them unchangend? or create new files , replace existing "text layer" new text layer?
one of reasons question is, existing "text layer" free of recognition errors definition (because has been added word's conversion feature). means, new text layer added acrobat's ocr feature can equal or inferior in quality compared existing one. in latter case, wouldn't make sense replace existing "text layer".
a second reason of searchable files have security properties (i. e. signatures). going happen them when ocr feature creates new file?
thank answers!
the usual thing acrobat object, saying file contains "renderable text", , nothing.
ocr on file signatures will, @ best, invalidate signature. more likely, trace of signature deleted, , attempt ocr on visual appearance, leaving graphic. ocr is not intended late-stage process.
