Thread: Some apps run only under root

hello.

reinstalled system, , time put in on lvm partition. don't know if caused problems guess because never had similar problems. here of problems:
-ktorrent crashes instant click open or browse buttons
-amarok displays splash screen , updates system settings forever
-transmission can't download (displays permission-related error).
treat separate problems if wasn't fact none of above happens when run apps sudo.

disk setup is:
-80gb disk small (300mb) partition bootloader , rest used lvm
-320gb disk used entirely lvm
-entire lvm space assigned 1 volume group, divided 3 partitions: root (5gb), swap (3.5gb) , rest allocated home. partitions ext4.

hardware:
asus p5ld2 deluxe motherboard
intel® pentium(r) 4 cpu 3.00ghz × 2
nvidia gpu
3,2 gb ram ddr2
both disks manufactured seagate

think it, caused "encrypt home folder" option enabled during setup?

the applications mentioned have on home configuration files.
should have problem more apps, thunderbird, firefox, shotwell, libreoffice, banshee , more.

don't know if choice of encrypted home useful compensate these caveats. should encrypt swap more effective whole encryption.

good morning you! since joomla! version still running on 3.7.5, trying update current version 23.8.1. tried, got white page due incompatibility 1 of extension (page builder pro). decided first upgrade extension, , trying again. tried update, received error message of dublicated tables. went phpmyadmin , deleted these tables manually. same error appeared again, when tried update part. extension. in order rid of extension, tried remove extension via extension manager. hit "remove" button, got logged out. while trying log admin, got message: you not have access administrator section of site. . yes, changed _user table in phpmyadmin, , checked configuration.php, i'm still not able lock admin. however, checked , browsed internet solution, couldn't find hint, excepted, had similar issue , asked post output of "forum assistant". have no idea if narrow problem, @ least gotta try! of appreciated! thank in advance! part i: forum post assistant (v1.3.5) : 2nd november ...
