Camera timecode from Canon XH-A1 preserved in video file?

i've searched , couldn't find clear answer.

i shoot canon xf100 , camera timecode setting set free run.  sync cameras @ start of shoot. when bring video prpro cs6 timecode of video in sequence timecode recorded camera.  works great, , can sync video clips time code.

my question video hdv format camera, xh-a1.  have shoot coming in month or i'll using services of videographer, , uses xh-a1 cameras.  when shot xl2, file format sd avi file , did not recognize timecode of video camera.  started 00;00;00;00.

now, using cs3 , issue, or maybe dv format.

regardless, have videographer set cameras free run, sync them @ beginning, , deliver video time code intact.  make easier me multicam edits.  problem is, he's camera man, little new @ post production , i'm going have give him guidance.

so, first part of question if it's possible import video xh-a1 , preserve camera time code?  if so, work natively cs6, or there better technique?

thanks.

timecode info stored each clip, question whether hdv camera has free run timecode possibilities. few have capability. better use genlock, xf100 not have it, need xf105 that. no clear answer , better try out beforehand, @ least know whether works or not , avoid surprises.
