actions taken resolve forum post assistant (v1.3.5) 16th november 2017 wrote:i've hit problem installation of joomla. installation set using softaculous in cpanel. somehow updating status got stalled, admin section of joomla saying date, yet version 3.6.4 earlier week.

i used 'joomla update' component. started akeeba backup backed files, returned error when trying update database. (i don't know why automatically did akeeba backup since didn't ask that.) softaculous noted installation @ version 3.8.2. however, i'm not sure whether installed it, or whether failed install part way through process, yet status being shown having been updated.

to avoid akeeba backup taking hours, changed config in akeeba backup database , not files on site. went joomla update in component menu again, , clicked option update core files. think that has worked, after went through akeeba process of updating database (without updating files). however, got same database error, time more information table returned error.

i value knowing whether should assume database had been updated 3.8.2 or not. , should address database error. (i can basic sql manipulation in phpmyadmin, if know do.)

any appreciated.
