Thread: I get "Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exeption in interrupt" on my old laptop
hello everyone.
havent found lot of informations this, decided start new tread on forum.
problem is, kernel panic error message while trying test run ubuntu 9.04 (yes, ubuntu 9.04; havent tried lubuntu 10.04 or knoppix, feather linux, dsl, puppy, puppy wary or other linux distribution)
following error message:
"kernel panic - not syncing: fatal exeption in interrupt"
when trying test run ubuntu 9.04 live cd.
laptop 10 years old now.
laptops system specs are:
pentium iv approx. 1800 mhz.
256 mb ram
cd/dvd-rom
think caused incompactible hardware.
sorry bad english. primary language not english.
havent heard had error message wheb booting live cd , trying test drive ubuntu iso.
dont plan installing ubuntu 9.04 on laptop, want see how ubuntu 9.04 run on it. (will run slowly, freeze, crash, run ok, etc.)
cd-rom/dvd-rom half functional (it reads cd , boots, not)
had windows xp professional installed on laptop, bsod (blue screen of death) , error while running windows xp professional is:
unmountable_boot_partition
virus destroyed boot data.
anyway, windows xp professional not important now.
havent tried laptop 2-3 years.
also, monitor malfunctioning. use secondary monitor display output on screen. use secondary vga.
know laptop seems in chaos, want try make working.
give me advice now, linux try install on (i thinking lubuntu 10.04; lts version. dont install os often.)
way use old , older computers.
think every computer can used something.
