Thread: Window Switcher & multiple windows of the same application

i'm finding frustrating can't find answer anywhere - sorry if it's been answered.

i've used alt-tab heavily switch between open windows - in old days on windows, , in recent years ubuntu. it's particularly useful when - example - cutting , pasting between 2 documents, or 2 presentations, etc. i'm flipping , forth between 2 windows.

therefore find extremely frustrating in 11.10, window switcher seems switch between applications, not between windows within them. know if pause on app, opens view of windows of app , can switch between them, slow (there's timeout involved before shows windows) , requires more concentration repeated alt-tabs i'm used to.

find better super-w, windows shown, , click 1 want far slower , more distracting quick alt-tab flip between windows.

there setting i'm missing somewhere make alt-tab work way did?

or missing other neat ui trick achieve same aim in different way?

(ps - wife has macbook , notice os x similar - find equally difficult - fortunately, never got used alt-tab doesn't miss it!).

hi, wrong here because i'm not using ubuntu right think use alt key above tab key switch between windows of same application.
