Alt key + mouse wheel for zoom (windows 7 alt key function)

hello photoshop,

i'm using cs6 on windows 7-64bit keyboard , mouse.  have problem default functionality of "alt" key in windows 7.  of familiar default functionality of alt key in windows 7, please skip next paragraph.  of not familiar, pressing alt key in programs in windows highlight toolbar can use keyboard make selections within "file", "edit", "view", etc. toolbars if mouse goes dead.

 

my problem use alt + mouse scroll zoom time.  rely on feature more should.  yes, use cntrl + or cntrl - zoom means have take right hand off mouse , use photoshop 8+ hours day days.  time of essence complete projects deadline.

 

so, has found solutions this?  i've tried disabling default alt function in windows 7 (didn't work because can't without third pary openware).  i've tried duplicating shortcut in edit - keyboard shortcuts menu (didn't work because doesn't recognize mouse scroll).  missing something?  appreciated because getting tired of having reselct fonts when alt key switches focus workspace toolbar.

dave, maybe idea specific doesn't work right...

 

i typed text, while insertion cursor still blinking did alt-mousewheel zoom.  when type character causes system emit "ding" sound, after subsequent typed characters insert normal.

 

is you're seeing?
