Thread: Installation problem "Attached scsi generic sg1 type 0"


hi everyone,
new here. have never used ubuntu until now.
trying install onto old computer.

having quite bit of trouble here.
tried reading through how tos , guide , did searches on problems had , have managed past huddles without problem (i have spent 10 hours on installation now, still not done)

registered , decided seek little wisdom users here.

got usb-live (ubuntu 11.10) boot , have tried going "try buntu without installation", , using f6 nomodeset, , tried typing command solve graphics card issue goes "i951....", tried selecting options in f6, tried doing install, , tried persistent mode.

of unsucessful.
@ point see bunch of code loading, , stops @ line

any ideas?

ram ddr3 4 gb
nvidia gtx 260
sata hard drive
ide hard drive
ide dvd-rom
