Thread: libusb package uninstallation messed up my desktop GUI

hi everyone,

newbie ubuntu. got ubuntu system(from someone) 9.04 2.6.28-11-generic i686 gnu/linux kernel. trying install program has dependency on libusb-1.0-0. ubuntu 9.04 had libusb-0.1-4 . tried upgrading /updating packages using sudo apt-get upgrade got message saying 0 packages installed , 0 removed. tried adding new software sources / update repositories. did not either.

aware libusb-1.0-0 cannot directly installed. reason i decided uninstall libusb-0.1-4 (i think used 100 other packages or so.) in hope allow me install newer version. , couldnt find libusb-1.0-0 pacakge after uninstallation. instead of re-installing old libusb decided reboot , check again. when did not able see desktop now. allow me login in command prompt , see folders not able desktop gui. thinking messed network connection/configuration because tried ping google.com said unknown host. there way fix packages , check if network connection fine?

know easy install latest version of ubuntu me solve problems there lot of data , applications on system cannot lose or transfer. please me fix issue !

good morning you! since joomla! version still running on 3.7.5, trying update current version 23.8.1. tried, got white page due incompatibility 1 of extension (page builder pro). decided first upgrade extension, , trying again. tried update, received error message of dublicated tables. went phpmyadmin , deleted these tables manually. same error appeared again, when tried update part. extension. in order rid of extension, tried remove extension via extension manager. hit "remove" button, got logged out. while trying log admin, got message: you not have access administrator section of site. . yes, changed _user table in phpmyadmin, , checked configuration.php, i'm still not able lock admin. however, checked , browsed internet solution, couldn't find hint, excepted, had similar issue , asked post output of "forum assistant". have no idea if narrow problem, @ least gotta try! of appreciated! thank in advance! part i: forum post assistant (v1.3.5) : 2nd november ...
