Thread: Unable to turn off latchlock with combination of sticky keys. (xsetkbset )

i want turn on sticky keys don't want turn on latchlock. means if press shift 2 times, should not lock. used work in fedora distribution unable make work on ubuntu 11.10. here debugging information :

$ xkbset q | grep -i latch
latch lock mask = off
$ xkbset st -twokey -latchlock
$ xkbset q | grep -i "latch"
latch lock mask = on

irrespective of whether use "-latchlock" or "=latchlock", latchlock always
on. tried using "c" program xkbax_latchtolockmask mask never turns
off when sticky enabled.

verified setting not expired.
$ xkbset q exp
accessx timeout = 60
upon expiry audible bell be: unchanged
upon expiry repeat keys be: unchanged
upon expiry mouse-keys be: off
upon expiry mouse-keys acceleration be: unchanged
upon expiry accessibility features (accessx) be: unchanged
upon expiry sticky-keys be: unchanged
upon expiry 2 keys mask be: unchanged
upon expiry latch lock mask be: unchanged
...

------------------------------------------------

* happens on 2 independent machines
* tried 2 different users same issue.

can please?

i tried xfce , works fine. think gnome issue. gnome accessibility daemon somehow forces latchlock on when sticky keys enabled.

gnome accessibility doesn't seem provide way configure latchlock.
