flickering stills CS4.2.1
i added lot of pictures found on internet timeline. these pictures low definition sharpened them, trimmed them , put them in timeline. show in premiere, when burn film blu-ray using h.264, pictures flicker badly , sound intermittently cuts out. not happen if use mpeg-2 want use h.264 because in other respects h.264 better. tried de-interlace, flicker removal , did no good. tried exporting sharpened pictures timeline tiff files, re-importing them , putting them in timeline. improved slightly, still flickers , sound cuts out. happening , how can fix it? putting pictures in photoshop , exporting them jpeg help?
tim,
i assume starting jpeg's begin with. correct?
i process images in ps, , go lightly on sharpening. alone can cause "shimmer," or "flicker," around higher-contrast borders in image.
in cs 4, scale image in ps, match frame size of project, prior import.
once processing has been completed in ps, save_as psd (no more compressions, save_as jpeg), or png, , import those.
with mpeg-2 dvd compression, many add touch of blur type, improve on dvd-video. touch of vertical blur, resultant video interlaced. sharpening, little goes long way, experiment.
good luck,
hunt
