Thread: How to remove ttf-mscorefonts-installer ?

i have started using system76 bonobo , want virtualise older windows machine (i work sql server). used parallels make usable image of machine , tried install parallels workstation on linux machine (ubuntu 11.10). ran 12 hours , suffered power cut, had kill process , close down (i think 12 hours little long!).

anyhow, i've subsequently tried installing virtualbox , received error immediately:

there seems programming error in aptdaemon, software allows install/remove software , perform other package management related tasks.

tried remove , re-install core fonts package, during removal:

installarchives() failed: dpkg: error processing ttf-mscorefonts-installer (--remove):
package in bad inconsistent state - should
reinstall before attempting removal.
errors encountered while processing:
ttf-mscorefonts-installer

seems need repair source fonts before virtualbox install, can't re-install (the installer offers removal only).

have reached black hole re-installing whole os fix

well can remove vb , install again don't need reinstall ubuntu that. try

sudo apt-get update --fix- missing

i'm not sure allow package manager remove virtual box , install again.
