Thread: Restricted Formats


i have been using ubuntu since 10.04, tried versions in between, , decided lts sort of guy. reinstalled 10.04.03 today. when tried install mp3 support using method in ubuntu community documentation, here happened.

john@asus-904:~$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras [sudo] password john:  reading package lists... done building dependency tree        reading state information... done e: couldn't find package ubuntu-restricted-extras john@asus-904:~$
ubuntu not find package. how ubuntu can find it?

the 'multiverse' repositories have enabled ...

the ubuntu-restricted-extras available in multiverse repository (the repsoitory software copyright/patent issues in areas), enabled default recent versions of ubuntu (9.04 or newer). if have older version, may need manually enable it. wiki page on enabling it or alternative enabling using terminal.
