my joomla installation based on core system number of extensions.
i make modifications various parts of overall install don't want lock myself out of being able continue released updates.
as haven't created extensions myself, other hello world example, appreciate feedback on approach i've been thinking about.
basically, want create extension contains files , database schema changes need. each joomla/extension update released, check files have in extension against newly released versions , modify new ones perform tasks require.
the main benefit see of allows me manage changes in organised way without letting situation out of control.
can done using custom extensions? otherwise think git next best option.
