Thread: Nvidia installer on custom kernel with SSD drive
ok here's trying do. i've ordered ssd drive , want if not compiling in ram conserve ssd writes. i've got 8/gig ram , have set /tmp , /run/shm (used /dev/shm) in fstab utilize memory. works fine , able compile in temp directories. problem i'm having in trying install nvidia drivers on custom kernel . after compiling kernel i'm trying move source directory drive (partition) , create sym link drive in /lib/modules/<kernel version> nvidia installer can find source.nvidia finds ok , gets halfway thru compiling kernel headers , errors out. @ log , giving permissions error /scripts/recordmcount file in source directory. can move source directory anywhere on original drive , change symlink point , works fine. permissions on second drive set 777 , show correctly.
