Thread: Reinstalling.. /home is ext3 but want to format / as ext4. Good idea?

i'm in process of reinstalling system.. /home on ext3 partition , i'm thinking of formatting / ext4 partition.

1) cause issues ubuntu?
2) if there minor issues, worth speed increase ext4 offers? faster boot priority , system files located on ext4 / partition.
3) i'm not gonna bother convert /home ext4.. not worth potential data loss in exchange slight performance increase. of have on /home movies , pictures i'm storing access once in blue moon.

1. ext4 default should ok
2. if speed priority, go ext4! if stability (for example @ power failure) priority, keep ext3!
3. keep ext3 /home!
