Thread: Gwibber notifications issue

so, being complete ubuntu newbie, i've been faithfully following advice internet on how make work. thought i'd done quite in uninstalling gwibber (because prefer destroytwitter, , made work installing air through terminal -- rather proud of ;]).

here's site used how uninstall software. command line put terminal --

code:
$ sudo apt-get remove gwibber
-- , seemed well. ten minutes later, i'm still getting notifications in top right of screen automatically. fair play, thought, i've missed component.

this thread gave me idea try different line of code:

code:
sudo apt-get purge gwibber
...aaaand i'm still getting blasted notifications! have no idea i've done wrong now, or do. gwibber doesn't show when put name dash home searchbox, presume did manage uninstall it... blazes notifications coming from??

i'm running ubutu 11.04 on dual-boot windows 7/ubuntu system. have little clue how got installed, more tech-minded friend did me, i'm pretty sure ran desktop edition usb stick , partitioned hard drive according setup wizard in that.

gratefully received!

ps. sincerely hope i'm in right place, first post (outside of intro thread, anyway). if not, please feel free move topic apologies , no hard feelings. :]

anybody? please? (apologies if bumping thread frowned upon, double notifications i'm getting driving me nuts , quite possibly screwing twitter api...)
