Search plugin ordering - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i've created search plugin grabs results of rss feed hubspot blog have set , returns array of objects per requirements of j! search plugin. works. results added search results. but. last on list (as plugin set last).
the ordering of search results area of confusion. have set ordering of data set plugin according ordering value passed in, , orders results @ end of list of combined search results in order have set, not order combined search resullts according recent, title asc or whatever else. joomla contents ordered, k2 items ordered, results ordered.

is search plugin supposed results of of different search plugins , reprocess them according order attribute? there $item->created , $item->title object attributes used order combined results. if case (and makes me believe wan't isn't possible), there'd no need order results within plugin @ all, because duplicating processing. i'm assuming i'm seeing default behaviour, it's bit disappointing.

can't have search results ordered alphabetically or date regardless of plugin retrieving them?

this isn't possible since different search plugins use different data sources. although single plugin made search in multiple database tables (e.g. content , k2) , sort results properly. way results (i.e. no pagination) , sort them afterwards. extremely slow.
