Thread: ubuntu 10.04 nvidia ion issue

hi,
having trouble wth ubuntu 10.04 setup running on nvidia ion display.
set year ago , working fine until couple of weeks ago when video started stuttering , cpu usage went 100% core.
running nvidia driver 185 , running 290.
have issue gdm starts correctly after 8-10 seconds screen goes blank. can restart gdm service , comes again goes blank after same time.
if "alsa reload" same thing happens i'm not sure if doing gdm restart
can't see in /var/log/messages or dmesg
thing can see in gdm logs gdm-session-worker[1443]: glib-gobject-critical: g_value_get_boolean: assertion `g_value_holds_boolean (value)' failed
appears when starts rather when dies.
have ideas on can check?

sounds nvidia driver causing heat or pc case needs cleaned out.

try going old driver if case heatsinks clean.
