Thread: Earlier releases, notes, 64-bit filename
hello all,
new ubuntu, please forgive ignorance , dumb questions.
environment:
hardware: mbpro6,2 dual core i5, imac11,3 quad core i7
os: 10.7.2
vm: fusion 4
questions:
1. per conversation vmware support, 11.10 not supported, 10.04, 10.10, , 11.04 are. looking earlier version, found 10.04 in drop-down menu. guess makes sense, since it's latest lts.
prefer install 11.04 or 10.10, can't seem find download user friendly 10.04 , 11.10 offered. did find references ubuntu mirrors download release, due lack of experience , lack of time imposed project objective, not sure want step on path.
there way 11.04 or 10.10 iso files conveniently 10.04 , 11.11?
2. when selecting 64-bit option either 11.11 or 10.04 download page , noticed 'amd' reference in file name. maybe it's silly (read: paranoid) question on part, in reference , going work fine on mac intel cpu? hope it's reference fact original architecture spec developed amd. please clarify.
3. can find release notes describing release content progression? example, read 11.04 first release have unity (with gnome 2.x option), while 10.10 has gnome 3.0 , kde. have experience kde on fedora, not ecstatic it, take @ other desktops. nice see release notes see where?
