Thread: No init found. Try passing init= bootarg.

hi forum,

newly registered, have been reading several threads try fix .... unfortunately not yet successful.

have older notebook, compaq n610c, installed 8.10 on couple of years ago. no problems on years! received 'title' error @ boot.

after reading , experimenting way many hours ... notebook not reboot original 8.10 cd or new 11.10 cd ... went far attempt reinstall windows xp .... attempts bring me 'no init found. try passing init= bootarg.' , parks me @ (initramfs).

think left on resulting in disk corruption @ power failure, guessing. i've seen gparted, etc, file not found error , don't have clue how find if load cd , live cd won't boot allow me run other commands other threads .... know, bad.

appreciated. tho user on 2 years, i'm ubuntu guts beginner.

thanx!

moved beginner talk.
