Thread: bootloader install failed during 11.10 install
i have been trying install 11.10 day keep encountering issue bootloader failing install. i've tried following:
1) mount dev/sda /mnt/....but device mounted or mnt busy
2) mount dev/mapper/isw_baeecjacca_volume0 /mnt/....same result above
3) using boot-repair tool both via ubuntu livecd , burned boot-repair cd initiated @ startup. former got held when trying "enable raid". latter stated boot-repair successful. when tried install ubuntu again receive same bootloader error.
not sure try next. appreciated.
in case helpful, following output form sudo fdisk -l (admittedly, not sure how interpret this):

is fakeraid?
if plan install ubuntu (no dual boot windows) why don't use software raid opposed fakeraid?
in both cases, need install alternate install cd, not standard desktop cd. if using desktop image, grub2 installation fails in cases. that's why raid and/or lvm recommended use alternate cd.
