Thread: HOWTO: Quick Fix Indicator Plugin
hello everyone,
reason why decided create thread because during these last day having tough time basic xubuntu indicators (mail, volume, network, load)..... basic issue somehow..., mail , volume indicators disappeared. network indicator somehow survived, have hard time connecting, , crash, , disappear. went through several threads, suggested uninstall , reinstall indicator plugins, , corresponding applets. also, there 1 suggested delete panel configs, , replace them in
/etc/xfce4/, or similar. looked on configs on:
~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-panel.xml
, can see, nothing out of ordinary can cause conflict.
next part must have gone through 100 times, guess there nothing out of ordinary, if don't know you're looking for, right??? right click on empty portion of panel, go down "panel>" option, , window pull-out. choose "panel preferences" , panel option window pop-up. click oncode:<property name="plugin-4" type="string" value="systray"> <property name="show-frame" type="bool" value="false"/> <property name="size-max" type="uint" value="22"/> <property name="names-visible" type="array"> <value type="string" value="thunar"/> <value type="string" value="networkmanager applet"/> <value type="string" value="task manager"/> <value type="string" value="blueman-applet"/> <value type="string" value="vmware-tray"/> <value type="string" value="xfce4-power-manager"/> <value type="string" value="multiload"/> <value type="string" value="notes"/> <value type="string" value="swt"/> </property>
"items" tab:
down 4th item, "indicator plugin" missing in case. click "add" or "+" sign, , will
bring window items want add. if somehow lost indicator plugin, go ahead , add it, , indicators once again re-appear. option can remove panel items, , re-adding it. indicators have been restored panel, , working should be:
hopes @ least 1 lost soul, avoid frustration had go through. luck everyone.
