Thread: Computer No longer detecting my router

hi, i'm running ubuntu 10.04 on acer aspire 1 netbook. home network no longer visible on computer. can access other wireless networks, reason it's mine doesn't exist anymore. roommates can online on our wireless. tried plugging ethernet cable straight computer, , still did not detect our network. tried deleting our network computer , creating new one, , either doesn't connect, or says connected, none of connection bars highlighted, , not online. tried network restart via terminal, updating ubuntu.

thinking upgrading 10.10, hoping might work if "bug." lose files way?

friend suggested turn off firewall, i'll next.

suggestions appreciated.

would suggest first restart router , modem, refresh broadcast of internet connection.
