omg! ccsm!
here's deal: ever since unity came out kinda liked wanted see refinement in few small key areas, specifically:
- drop background color behind icons in launcher, makes icon shapes appear muddy , difficult discern (for example ubuntu software center washed out)
- fine-tune auto-hide behaviors, can adjust delay interval works better me
- change icon size, making little smaller can full benefit of launcher have take less room , show more icons
solution: compiz config settings manager. lets , more.
okay, isn't new, , many folks know how it. went many weeks until found it, of want tweak unity , haven't yet installed ccsm here's trick:
in ubuntu software center, search unity. unity first hit, , when click "more info..." you'll see list of checkboxes components comprise package.
@ bottom of list 1 checkbox not set default: compiz config.
turn on, let install, , open it.
version not compatible unity, sports new unity icon in main panel. click that, , enjoy! plenty of options there fine-tuning unity experience.
old hat some, dang! wished i'd found sooner, , before tried i'd come across posts said ccsm wasn't compatible unity. may true versions, version installed unity page in usc works great. great.
