Thread: Completely Uninstalling & Reinstalling; Changing Partition Size
hi!
i've been having problems newest version of ubuntu after upgraded it, , want remove ubuntu fresh, clean, install instead of install on version there. hopefully, fix problems.
how go doing this? delete files? have them backed up, i'm wondering, of course it's less of hassle if don't deleted.
also, dual boot windows 7. while still need few things, after trying ubuntu few months, realized want use ubuntu. how can resize partition give ubuntu more space before reinstall it? gave such small amount in beginning, want give around 80% of space, barely use windows anymore.
thank you!
p.s. please give me easy instructions, i'm n00b, , don't want end unusable computer.
hallo. going give stuff read partitioning. learning never hurts.
general partitioning info, , suggestions partitioning schemes:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/diskspace
use "separate /home" scheme, allows re-mount existing /home partition fresh install. brings question file: if don't have /home separate, files deleted during fresh install. not great problem if have saved off somewhere else, tedious putting them back.
may want consider creating separate /home partition before new install using guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/pa...ng/home/moving
have remounted /home number of times without trouble. have feeling make new, i.e. copy off , start scratch, every , then. think amount of dross tends accumulate. easy option new install fresh.
