when using wlan card in computer external antenna, bad idea unplug antenna while using interface? and, more common case, bad idea bring wlan interface (configured ssid , psk) no antenna attached card?
may want use alix box in diverse network environments , prefer linux finding way network automatically, i. e. without preparing network configuration manually before changing locations (and unplugging antenna because i'm going wired network). , changing networks bit uncomfortable because have network access box only.
if matters, card compex wlm54g 23db mini-pci atheros chipset.
no , no, antenna merely gives signal strength, without strength though minimal. can take off , re-attach whilst running, change 3 5 9 15 30dbi , omni directional directional running fine.posted lonelypixel
