Thread: PC for my mum - advice please

my 85 year old mum, lives in uk, needs new desktop.

uses pc playing patience, buying things on ebay, email, viewing e-cards send her, , skype.

however, interested in using pc watch tv. in uk , use bbc iplayer.

has failing eyesight, macular degeneration due diabetes, far copes fine. helps touch typist.

regrettably, used windows, don't think there chance of persuading switch ubuntu, new machine run windows 7.

cost no problem, there isn't point in getting machine more powerful needs.

i'm familiar dell machines, there other recommendations?

a low-end dell desktop or laptop computer fine basic requirements stated. if buy desktop computer you're going have purchase web camera separately; perhaps ask whether laptop okay? since more portable , easier use since integrated , there, instead of having huge tower, keyboard, mouse , external monitor.

desktop computer 1 of lowest-end here: http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-desktops

laptop computer 1 of lowest-end here: http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-la...n&s=dhs&~ck=mn

granddad bought second-hand laptop , because of age decided opt 17" laptop can see on screen. think 15" fine that's you'd know whether 15" or 17" laptop better suited.

in general, dell pretty brand , make hardware previous purchase experiences dell.

hope helps.
