early on when jumping website business, made decision choose joomla! on astoundingly popular wordpress, because features , basic idea behind seems rather superior. don't regret that. however, in making websites clients find extremely difficult wrestle joomla!, administration area, friendly , welcoming condition end user.

the simple fact while comfortable learning curve of joomla! backend interface, our clients not. spend more time trying configure websites front end editing , trying make backend 'nice' possible when access necessary in constructing website.

i love joomla!, think it's superior, -truthfully- website developer clients, our number 1 focus has in making website 'useable' 'client'...it's not making customers if client can't navigate end alter content. we're not against wordpress has simpler , more attractive interface, we're against glossy veneer of 'drag , drop' website builders such wix.

so, don't know solution here, know every time introduce client end of joomla! site, break sweat. i've looked great admin templates , i've spent hours (on each website) altering permissions try , take 'most, , most' of scary clutter away admin area need update content , add media. have remember our bread , butter on premise cms makes 'client friendly' can use website , alter content without being complicated.

i know anyone's thoughts, in honesty, i'm finding difficult talk folk around complicated mess administration area. think joomla! administration designed developer , designer community in mind, need remember product ends in hands of end user, being 'client'. person used facebook , google user experience.

i love discuss (and learn) best ways configure , use joomla! (and present joomla!) clients, have make tentative suggestion -in core- joomla! needs address fact live in age of wordpress, wix , whizzy, easy use google apps. our administration area needs tidy up....or more options....or default admin profile cleaner , hides away things not directly related 'content'.

i don't mean make empty suggestion, love find time craft great admin template solve this...or tell me there great one. shouldn't default joomla!?

give them choice of having static website can't change or dynamic website can change. if choose latter offer choice of learning how use or range of prices maintaining it.

they have choice of paying update etc or paying teach them how it.
