Thread: NFS mounting question

hi everyone,

have query mounting nfs shares. ubuntu 11.04 box , mythbuntu 11.04 box.

on ubuntu box export home directory whole local subnet (192.168.6.0/24)

on mythbuntu box mount directory using /etc/fstab sub-folder of mythbuntu home directory.

works great, except if ubuntu machine turned off, , go open nautilus (or whatever file explorer is) in mythbuntu, can't access home folder , hangs, presumably because can't access mounted folder anymore.

how can mount if ubuntu machine turned off, ignore fact can't access mounted folder , still allow me browse home folder?

have searched , tried few different options no avail. current mount command in fstab is:

code:
192.168.x.x/home/phil /home/phil/mount-folder nfs ro,soft,timeo=4,retry=1,intr 0 0
if can thankful

cheers
phil
