Flex SDK and AIR runtime version in mobile
hi, guys.
i'm trying make first flex mobile app.
i'm little confused relationship between flex sdk , air runtime versions mobile development.
in "developing mobile applications adobe flex 4.6 , adobe flash builder 4.6" pdf document, says:
"air requirements
flex mobile projects , actionscript mobile projects require air 2.6 or higher version. can run mobile projects on physical devices support air 2.6 or higher version of air.
you can install air 2.6 or higher version on supported android devices run android 2.2 or higher version. complete list of supported android devices, see certified devices. also, review minimum system requirements run adobe air on android devices @ mobile system requirements.
note: if not have device supports air 2.6 or higher version of air, can use flash builder launch , debug mobile applications on desktop."
so, go , check certified devices in http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html , find minimun flash player version accepted devices fp 10.1
1. mean if want release app target mobile devices, can use flex 4.5?
2. support flash player mean same support adobe air? or application prompt user install whatever version of air runtime , of them supported device, in flash player support lesser version?
thanks!
flash player plugs browser , runs when viewing swf content in web page.
air desktop , mobile applications download , install. right now, recommendation when creating mobile applications air use “captive runtime” feature. make download larger embedding air runtime application, don’t have worry version of air on device , user doesn’t have install or upgrade air.
