Thread: pppoeconf - eth0 problem

hi, on ubuntu server first made pppoeconf connection, after few days delete , want make eth0 manual connection wired.
have problem that,
"rather invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use service( 8 ) untility, e.h. service networking start

since script attempting invoke has been converted upstart job, may use start( 8 ) untility, start networking"

pppoeconf make me problem, try remove it, i'm not sure did it. wired manual settings fine, work on win7.
tried
/etc/init.d/networking restart

*running /etc/init.d/netwroking restart deprecated because may not enable interfaces
*reconfiguring network interfaces...
rtnetlink answers: no such process
faild bring eth0. [ok]

got message, how solve this?
thank

with hard work , tried possible, 1 thing left try. skeptic works! found solution on forum:

"networkmanager best way end-users configure network think these problems happening people configured networks using command line using cut-and-paste fiddling pppoeconf or stuff in /etc.

have networkmanager manage interfaces without editing ifupdown/interfaces files, should work.

check /etc/network/interfaces.

press alt+f2 , paste in:
code:

gksudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces

remove but
code:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

check /etc/networkmanager/nm-system-settings.conf
press alt+f2 , paste in:
code:

gksudo gedit /etc/networkmanager/nm-system-settings.conf

set

code:

[ifupdown]
managed=false

restart computer or networkmanager service.
on, configure network using networkmanager applet in notification area (aka system tray).

more info see: http://wiki.debian.org/networkmanager

if doesn't work, post here again."
