like lot of people running xubuntu, seems, the:

code:

ecryptfs_encrypt_page: error attempting write lower page; rc = [-28] ecryptfs_writepage: error encrypting page (upper index [0x000000000212c485])

messages, @ least in kern.log. not see them popups have been ignoring them - seems work ok.

notice on last several nights, or mornings, @ 2am, kern.log has dozen or of such messages within 2 seconds, , there no more logging.

have checked kern.log , syslog, , logging stops after flurry of ecryptfs messages.

have script running netstat once minute, , @ time of ecryptfs messages, writes out slew of garbage - looks binary stuff, , no longer works. - script continues try run nestat, output file 0 length.

same thing test email send once hour - after ecryptfs stuff, no longer works.

guess pc locked in way, when come down in morning , type in password unlock screensaver, seems normal, , if @ kern.log, can see messages beginning again point.

while @ it, noticed today there program installed called 'popularity-contest' apparently sends out emails ubuntu programs use most. don't remember telling install one. removed it, not give me warm , fuzzy feeling ubuntu or xubuntu.

popularity-contest installed default, opt-in; have tick box in software sources in before starts doing thing.
