i hope it's okay if ask opinion. because, when asked opinion on topic on joomla stack exchange - 1 guy complained (i deleted thread).
i'm 94% convinced make use of jch optimize. need further 6% encouragement?
keep in mind... within topic, if understood correctly, itoctopus said can pretty achieve jch optimize functions/features using .htaccess file.

i have used jch optimize tends make complete mess of things , wouldn't recommend it. code aggregators/obfuscators jch optimize make little difference far site performance concerned , can create operational problems if web content utilises several javascript libraries simultaneously. so, general rule, stay clear of code aggregators, during site development, , use them after extensive testing.
i don't use jch optimize (or other code "optimisers") these days, don't improve performance noticeable degree, , wouldn't recommend (particularly not in cases you're aggregating javascript code).
