Thread: Getting phpMyAdmin to recognize (and import to) a virtual host/domain

hi everyone

have lamp server set on ubuntu 11.10 along copy of phpmyadmin. phpmyadmin in main folder , can accessed using: localhost/phpmyadmin. have 3 virtual domains can accessed by...

localhost/folder1
localhost/folder2
localhost/folder3

phpmyadmin works fine. can display in browser, login using mysql password created , create databases/import, etc.

first domain (ie; localhost/folder1) php/mysql driven site. other 2 static html pages. having lot of difficulty linking/associating phpmyadmin localhost/folder1 when import sql dump, populate "folder1" data. when tried earlier , went localhost/folder1, received message site "could not connect database".

please tell me step-by-step , in reasonably simple terms how can phpmyadmin recognize folder1 , understand site want sql database imported to?.

in advance on (i've been racking brains on day).

phpmyadmin manages database; it's entirely independent applications use database. need appropriate code in application connect database , manipulate data. if you're using php, you'll find here.

kinds of errors see in /var/log/apache2/error.log when try run application?
