Error on front-end since 3.7.4: Category not found - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,

it seems, upgrade joomla 3.7.3 (or 3.7.4) introduced new error in front-end of site. may related acl-rights.

situation:
- user enough acl-rights logs in frontend , edits joomla-article in category.
- under tab "publishing" changes category category (user has rights on both categories).

- in j3.7.2 worked (see video). in j3.7.4 joomla-error raised, after selecting new category: "error: category not found".

the normal behaviour explained (for users) here, in j3.7.2: https://www.[youtube].com/watch?v=qvcsawrqro4&t=341s (view 3:40 min)

i did tests:
- error not occur when change category in backend (with super user access).
- error raised both in protostar-template in yootheme template.
- error not occur when login on front-end super user access....

is changed in acl-right in j.3.7.4? should give group access somewhere??

please help. thanks, gerard verheij

i've found solution, behaviour in j.3.7.4 strange, , not explain me why happens.

the user should have enough acl-rights change categorie on front-end in group "grp_tc".

i give group more acl-rights, follows:

in backend menu: content --> categories. upper right corner: button "options". tab: "permissions". select group "grp_tc" , add these acl-right:
create = allowed
edit = allowed
delete = allowed

now works in front-end in j.3.7.4 in j.3.7.2. but, why there difference in versions?

also, , seems stranger me (!), when new categorie selected in front-end article, joomla creates new copy-article in target-categorie! new id, same alias.
