i have ntfs partition mounted in fstab since ubuntu installation, know mount options allowed me write partition, lately, can't write partition. uuid=369ae9cd9ae98a27 /media/media ntfs defaults,umask=007,gid=46 0 0 know umask gives me full permissions, then, defaults options rw, exec, auto, nouser, dev, suid, etc. nouser option bugging me, reason why can't write it? should replace defaults rw, exec, auto, user , dev, suid, async, ... etc? i suspect need run check on partition in windows. if file system unclean, ubuntu remount read (ro). i have been trying save recently-completed project dvd , have discovered curiosity regarding denoiser have applied 1 of audio clips in timeline, or rather, behaviour.   it little difficult explain, here goes, , if needs clarification, please let me know.   in project, there couple of sections of audio in timeline consist of old analogue audio, , quite hissy , benefit little noise reduction. so, have used denoiser on both sections. on first such section, have set -7.5 db reduction, , on second, -2.5 db reduction. haven't encountered problems second section, following refers first section only. first section begins low level audio, volume increases after few seconds. when first open project , play low-level audio @ start of section, noisefloor setting has not yet been established (according display of denoiser @ it), , causes audio drop in overall volume. establishes thinks noisefloor should be, @ correct level. then, when play section again, there no drop in audio, noisefloor h...

ok, don't believe issue ubuntu, per se. i'm hoping tips on how can narrow down going on here. issue this: doesn't matter distro install (various versions of ubuntu, mint, easy peasy, , 1 or 2 others). live cd (usb, actually) works fine, , installation proceeds without obvious flags being raised. when go boot after installation, stops little cursor underline blinking @ upper left -- nothing else ever shows up. can boot on live usb's , mount drive in question, , *looks* okay -- mean it's there expect. scanned through /var/log files see if anythign obvious shows nothing. suggest through try , sort out? netbook kinda brick @ point (don't want run in perpetual live usb mode, obviously). thanks! i have laptop pair of ati gpu's in - 6970m mxm cards. i'm running 11.04 , cannot detect second card unless in crossfire mode flaky (drivers likley, computational errors occur in second gpu). when fglrx intitially configures xorg.conf aticonfig --adapter=all -f --initial, creates separate sections each device, creates monitor each device, , screen each device. problem is, there's 1 monitor - lvds panel on laptop. when default configuration launched, x not start 2 devices apparently fight on 1 gets panel. if disable second screen, can start x, applications see 1 gpu (clinfo etc). how can map both devices 1 screen, or how can x understand second gpu exist, not mapped output?
